If you'd like to open an account at Gain Capital via paper application, please click on one of the following links depending on your desired account type.
Supporting Documents
U.S. Residents: No additional documents are necessary.
Non U.S. Residents: You are required to provide a copy of a valid government issued photo ID. The ID must include:
1) Name (as it appears on the application)
2) ID number
3) Date of birth
4) Address (as it appears on the application)
This will be accepted as a single form of identification for account opening purposes. If the government issued photo ID does not contain an address, separate documents will be required for proof of address such as a utility bill or bank statement (no older than 6 months).
You must also complete a W-8BEN: “Certificate of Foreign Status of Beneficial Owner for United States Tax Withholding Form”. To get the form click on this link: W-8BEN.
These documents are required of all authorized signers of the account.
Corporate Accounts - You will need to submit a copy of:
1) Certificate of Incorporation (Corporate Charter) as evidence of business registration.
2) Articles of Organization to indicate signers are authorized officers of the corporate entity.

Switch your Gain Capital Account to the U.K. Branch to Trade with MetaTrader 4
To switch your account to Gain-U.K. and take advantage of the MetaTrader 4 platform with hedging capabilities and segregated accounts, please fill out a new application by clicking on this link:

Please see the required supporting documents for a Gain-U.K. Account. Once your new account is approved you will need to transfer funds to it internally by filling out a transfer form, found at this link:

Simply fill out the top part of the form and continue to Section 1. Where it asks for a new account number you can either indicate "new" if you haven't yet received your Temporary ID or input your Temporary ID which you should receive from Gain when all of your application and supporting documents have been processed.

Copy of valid government issued photo ID, including ID #. The name on the ID must match the one indicated on the application. Acceptable forms of photo ID include: passport or drivers license.

Proof of address, which must match the address indicated on the application. Acceptable proofs include: utility bill, bank statement, credit card statement.
